Pusat Unggulan Biosains dan Bioteknologi (PUBB) or the Research Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology is an organization under the Directorate of Research and Community Service (LPPM), University of Mataram (UNRAM). The organization’s vision is to become an excellent center for research and development in the utilization of the marine natural resources and improve the reputation of expertise at national and international level in the field of Bioscience and Biotechnology. This vision can be achieved through synergizing national research and UNRAM institutional research strategy, and to provide consultation and supervision services to the community on the utilization of renewable natural resources for local industry and bio-industrial sectors. Currently, the research conducted by PUBB-UNRAM focuses on bioscience and biotechnology utilization of seaweeds or macroalgae. However, collaborations are also conducted regarding other marine natural resources such as corals, seagrass, and sponges.
